The jury of the National Award of Gastronomy 2015 formed by the Royal Academy of Gastronomy’s Board of Directors, the Brotherhood of the Buena Mesa, the Royal Academy of Gastronomy’s Friend Association and the presidents of the Regional Academies of Gastronomy, has granted Eneko Atxa the 2015 National Award of Gastronomy to the Best Chef.
As the Royal Academy of Gastronomy says, this award recognizes Atxa’s roots-based cuisine, which reinterprets the traditional Basque cookbook with dishes that establish a dialogue between creativity, sustainability and respect for the environment.
The gala of the National Awards of Gastronomy will be held on June 6th, 2016 and will be chaired by Mr Iñigo Méndez de Vigo, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports.
